Bruce Mundhenke- A Poem
The Hall
And I keep on walking,
Walking down the hall,
And I'm continually amazed
Because I thought I'd seen it all.
And every jolt to my senses,
Numbs me more and more,
And I keep on walking,
I leave behind another door.
And the hallway is forever,
It goes on and on and on,
And every door I pass by,
Is another door that's gone.
And there are doors that open,
And doors that never will,
And there are rooms that welcome,
And there are rooms that kill.
But the hallway is forever,
It goes on and on and on,
And every door I pass by,
Is another door that's gone.
And you meet some in the hallway,
As they come and go,
Some move so fast they can't be seen,
And some are moving slow.
And I wonder should I choose a room
As I pass by the way,
And move myself into that room,
And make a choice to stay.
But the hallway is forever,
It goes on and on and on,
And every door I pass by,
Is another door that's gone.
